Name Day
Today in the morning I have received a text message wishing me a happy Name Day.
Hmm.. to tell the truth it was a pleasant surprise on a cold morning, but it also was weird, as I never know when is my name day...
So once I've reached the office I did a small google research :)
Appearently I have 2 name days: November 19th and December 12th. I do not complain but where is the logics to have 2 name days in less than a month's time...
Generally it's no big deal, as this day doesn't mean a lot, but if I were Latvian, then it would be fun, coz for them Name Day is more important and celebrated than birthday!
Continuing about the research I did, the results are hilariuos!
There are names that have 3 or even 6 days a year! (Margarita is a top name with 6 Name Days!). Again if you were Latvian you would be broke! :)
Even Euzabijus has two name days! I want to find at least one person who knows Euzabijus! Or Pelagija, or Tulgedas, or Teodozija, or Kesgaile and many more...
I have a theory that whoever is creating the calendor of the Name Days have a startegic purpose to make less days to celebarte and save the population from drinking every day. That's why we get some really random Name Days as Pelagija! :) But the case with Margarita is exception!
